Description:
What Do You Get in the Director's Cut of "Assassin's Creed"?
"Assassin's Creed: Director's Cut Edition" is the PC version of the original, console-based "Assassin’s Creed." The "Director’s Cut" has a modified interface that is more appropriate for computer-based play, and it also includes a small amount of bonus content. Overall, the differences between editions are minor.

Plot
The plot of the original "Assassin’s Creed" and the "Director's Cut Edition" are identical. Released in late 2007 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and in early 2008 for PC, "Assassin’s Creed" tells the story of bartender Desmond Miles, who is kidnapped by the Abstergo Corporation. Abstergo forces Miles to replay the genetic memories he has of his 12th-century assassin ancestor, Altaïr ibn-La'Ahad. The player as Altaïr must accomplish a series of assassinations in order to regain his status in his guild and, as is later revealed, stop certain individuals from obtaining “Pieces of Eden” artifacts.

Gameplay
As in the original version, in "Assassin's Creed: Director's Cut Edition" the player carries out a series of assassinations. Altaïr is assigned a series of missions related to the assassination prior to attempting the actual killing. Missions include eavesdropping, pickpocketing, questioning and doing favors -- all with the end of obtaining necessary information. The "Director’s Cut" features four new types of these investigative missions, in addition to the console version’s original five.

Bonus Content
The four new missions are as follows: "Rooftop Race" involves running, leaping and climbing from one informant to another within a given time limit; "Archer Assassination" involves sneaking up on and eliminating several rooftop archers; "Informant Escort" involves accompanying and protecting another character; and "Merchant Stand Destruction," as its name implies, involves demolishing the shops of local merchants in order to disrupt cash flow. The four new missions are the main bonus content that distinguishes the "Director’s Cut" from the original edition, though there are also some minor AI tweaks to improve realism.

Requirements
The current version of "Assassin's Creed: Director's Cut Edition" is 1.02. Unlike console users, PC users have to pay attention to minimum and recommended system requirements to ensure their computers are able to handle the game. The requirements for the "Director’s Cut" are Windows XP or Windows Vista; a dual-core processor 2.6 GHz Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ -- Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ or better is recommended; 1GB RAM for Windows XP or 2GB RAM for Windows Vista; 256MB DirectX 10.0-compliant video card or DirectX 9.0-compliant card with Shader Model 3.0 or higher; DirectX 9.0 or 10.0-compliant sound card -- 5.1 sound card is recommended; and 8GB available hard drive space.
